Tiffany Freer, LCSW
Clinical Director of Child and Adolescent Support
- EMDRIA Approved Trainer
- EMDRIA Approved Consultant
- EMDR Certified Therapist
I am an LCSW, as well as an EMDR Certified therapist and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I enjoy working with people of all ages, including children and teens. Every person is unique and comes with specific circumstances that impact how they view themselves and the world. I enjoy helping people explore their beliefs and reach adaptive conclusions.
My primary modality is EMDR, though I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Training, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, EEG Neurofeedback, and incorporate some play therapy with children. As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I provide individual and group consultation to EMDR trained clinicians seeking EMDR Certification and I greatly enjoy providing consultation at EMDR Center of the Rockies EMDR Basic Trainings, helping clinicians learn and implement EMDR therapy into their practice.
I have extensive experience in a variety of clinical settings. I worked as the Clinical Director of a therapeutic foster care agency in Texas and provided intensive therapy to children at-risk of removal from their families. In addition, I have worked as a clinician in a community mental health center, spent five years providing mental health counseling in a pediatrician’s office working with individuals aged 3 through 18, and spent time providing emergency and crisis counseling in a crisis center. All of these experiences have impacted me as a clinician and as a person. I feel highly equipped to work with people of all ages and specialize in complex trauma and PTSD, as well as dissociative disorders.
I moved to Colorado several years ago from Austin, Texas where I lived for 25 years. I greatly enjoy the Colorado climate which is very conducive to my hobby of running. I started running marathons in 1998 and began competing in triathlons shortly thereafter. I competed in several Ironman triathlons with the goal of always putting my family first, even though it meant missing (perceived) important workouts to go to the park or make forts. I am passionate about my family, as well as staying active and healthy to keep up with my two elementary-aged children.
While college gave me book knowledge, nothing prepared me to work with my clients like having my own kids. I continue to learn and grow daily from them. In addition, my clients are constantly teaching me, as I genuinely believe I have much to learn from each person who walks through my door.
